Driving Disunity with Community Voice Australia

On February 17, 2024 the Central Coast of NSW hosted a small town-hall gathering held by Community Voice Australia (CVA).

CVA is one of a number of ‘community groups’ that have popped up in recent years with nebulous stated goals, and an unstated clear conspiracy theory laden view of the world.

Kate Mason of CVA for instance is a regular at anti-renewables rallies, does not accept the science supporting Climate Science, or vaccines, and is on the record as being a vocal opponent of the ‘smart cities initiative – a town planning model that has become fodder for these types to attach their outlandish insecurities to.

Kate Mason is Centered in the photo.

CVA has previously hosted such GuriNgai affiliates as Lisa Bellamy, Collen Fuller, and even actual Aboriginal woman Ren Sales.

CVA are also the source of the following viral meme:

There is so much to unpack from the most recent CVA event, but today we’re just focusing on the information provided on the night by non-Aboriginal woman Tracey Howie, and the GuriNgai Cult she leads.

In addition to her presentation, Tracey Howie was also selling brochures she claimed contained the evidence supporting her disproven and impossible claims.

Between Ms Howie’s presentation, and the literature she was selling for $1 a piece, we find substantial changes to the narrative Ms Howie previously relied upon; once again they are changing their story considerably from what they have previously claimed, as detailed in A Long Con gone on Too Long.

Over the next week when I have a spare moment I’ll deconstruct and debunk Howie’s latest changes, compare and contrast these new additions to her previous proclamations, and write up what we discover.

I just need a long break from listening to Howie’s talk again first, for Cultural and mental health self care.
