Meet Jeff Lawson (Part 1)

Meet Jeff Lawson (Part 1)

Jeff Lawson is another GuriNgai affiliate I had no idea existed until starting this project.

Remember all the way back in 2021 when ‘Indigenous Aboriginal’ Party candidate, and non-Aboriginal Person, Tracey Howie was forced to withdraw her short lived candidacy due to impending legal cases in which Ms Howie was the respondent?

Well in May of that year Ms Howie announced she was running in the NSW State election for the seat of Robertson, yet by December of the same year was replaced as candidate.

Her replacement claimed to be a ‘Dharruk Nation official’ a ‘bus driver based at Ryde’ yet was running in the Central Coast seat of Robertson, and repeated the GuriNgai talking points of Kariong holding significance, and Land Councils not representing the nonAboriginal GuriNgai in the community.

The article claims ‘former candidate, Tracey Howie, who has withdrawn from the race due to her expanding responsibilities as an Indigenous archaeologist, will be replaced by Jeff Lawson.’

The next time I noticed Mr Lawson’s distinctive features was in my data from 2022, alongside non-Aboriginal GuriNgai devotee Rebecca Hird Fletcher, on Survival Day.

Jeff Lawson looking tuckered out, in front of the crowd, at what they claim to be a Sacred Woman’s Site.

By the 22 of March 2022 it seems Mr Lawson was in full campaign mode, and decided to bring out the big guns when it comes to Howie associates with political aspirations:

falsly claim descent from Bungaree!

No description available.

So now we find Jeff Lawson claiming to be a relative of Tracey Howie, and a descendant of Bungaree.

We also find the excuse for Ms Howie dropping out has changed from being to busy, to being bullied somehow, over her “stance on some Indigenous issues.”

I reached out the Mr Lawson on September 6 this year with the following:

It was at this stage that Mr Lawson blocked me.

Which was of course, a red flag that perhaps Jeff Lawson was worth looking at a little more closely.

It did not take long at all for an Aunty to let me know Mr Lawson had previously run as a candidate in 2006. For Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party.

While I was gathering data, Mr Lawson began to post in the A Long Con Gone on Too Long Facebook page.

I can only assume that Mr Lawson intended to write descendant – in a confussing answer to a question no-one asked, by giving a misspelled name of very significant Darug Woman Maria Lock (c. 1808 – 1878).

For the record, Maria Lock is not a member of the same Clan as Bungaree, and the two are not related.

Unlike Tracey Howie, who is also not related to Bungaree, Maria Lock is an Aboriginal Person.

But can the same be said of Mr Jeff Lawson?

Impressed with Mr Lawson’s sudden openness, I gave it a shot at getting answers from the man.

Mr Lawson responded with speed I would not have thought him capable.

As I had previously felt on first contact with Bradley Twynham, I became concerned that Mr Lawson was not playing with a full deck, and may be taken advantage of by others within the GuriNgai.

Saying that, I share Mr Lawson’s disdain for “untrue assumptions” while disagreeing with Mr Lawson’s claim that I had somehow not provided evidence, as that is what this project is; a compellation of the publicly available evidence of GuriNgai fraud, of theft, and of appropriation of Culture and more.

Having racked up a considerable HECS debt obtaining first my Journalism degree, then later returning to complete a Bachelor of Laws, I couldn’t help but notice that Mr Lawson’s legal analysis was less than cogent.

Slender (sic), which I’m going to charitably hope Mr Lawson means ‘Slander’ is not a term used in Australia in regards to defamation. Also it refers to spoken communication, not written.

Needless to say it’s also not defamation of Mr Lawson’s character, as that damage was well and truly done before I had ever heard the name Jeff Lawson.

    Hi Jason,

When did Tracy Howie become an Indigenous Archaeologist? (Probably the same time she became Worimi / Guringai) I was one of the First to complete the Indigenous Archy course at UNE ( specializing in Indigenous Studies) And I’ve mentored many students since then, and I can’t remember or recall her name! or is she someone who likes the name title.

    Kind Regards,

      Hi Lennie,
Tracey Howie is not Indigenous, or an archaeologist – yet has applied both labels for years now.
The trail of devastation left is her wake will be studied by future archaeologists I hope.
Sites on Darug, Darkinjung, and Awaba Country have been trampled over by Howie and her family – using a string of interconnected corporate entities to drain any available financial resource dry.
Such companies operated by Howie include:
      Guringai Tribal Link Aboriginal Corporation;
      Guringai Tribal Link,
      Wannangini Pty Ltd, and
      Awabakal and Guringai Pty Ltd.

      Over and over again.
