Readers of Guringai, GuriNgai, Wannangini, Walkaloa: A long con, gone on too long will recall that back in 2007 the so-called Guringai Tribal Link Aboriginal Corporation made the news by threatening legal action towards Local Councils that didn’t recognise them, which was all of them.

Well now in 2023 this author (me) has met a similar fate.
Within hours of making public what I believe to be compelling evidence of widespread, prolonged, and very intentional Cultural theft and misrepresentation by a small group of people primarily based on the Central Coast of NSW, Tracey-lee Howie left this comment:

Which was followed by this email on 10/07/2023 , also from Tracey-lee Howie:

Isn’t it interesting that Tracey-Lee is only demonstrating concern for herself?
No mention of the Corporation/Nation/Clan/Tribe, and no defending the multiple Senior figures and others mentioned in the article; just concern for Tracey-lee Howie.
I recognise a very similar degree of self interest in the comments left on this site by Warren Whitfield.
I have since replied to Tracey-lee Howie with the following:
Tracey-lee Howie,
I am sorry to hear that you are upset, and while not my intent, such feelings are understandable.
I stand by the opinions and evidence provided in the recent article on my website www.bungaree.org.
If you possess actual evidence linking “Sophy” to Bungaree, Matora, or any other member of my family, by all means share it.
Until then, my judgment is based on the publicly available evidence I do have, which I believe is entirely reasonable.
If I may present a counter offer to your OFFICIAL CEASE AND DESIST NOTICE, it would be the following.
Come clean.
Be honest with yourself about what you are doing and why.
Be honest with your family, membership and friends.
Be honest with your community, not just those that can serve your interests.
You can choose to end the charade at any time, and you might just find that the real you isn’t so bad that she needs to hide behind false and stolen Culture.
You can be an activist, a community leader, even a politician, without claiming it is my Ancestors guiding you.
I can assure you my approach was entirely evidence based, and I am willing to examine any evidence presented to me should you ever decide to.
Until then, the article is staying right where it is.
Yours faithfully,
Jayson Daniel Cooke

My response in turn led to this from Tracey-lee Howie of the Shire:

The clock is still ticking! I thought I was being so polite not pointing out that “I’ll see you in court” isn’t traditionally something people actually say outside of TV. Biting my tongue a second time is asking too much!
On the other hand it is generous that the arbitrary deadline set by Tracey-lee is still ticking after I presented a counter-offer.
Tracey-Lee makes note of my research, that I claim to be correct. I’m not sure exactly which part she means, but am not surprised to read Tracey-lee thinks it is “so wrong.” We very clearly have as differing a perspective on right and wrong as we do on what constitutes racist, but that is hardly a shock.
I responded with the following, and have enjoyed a blissful radio silence ever since.

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”
